Hasiet’s Vision
Hasiet’s Vision International was founded in March 2015 to carry on the legacy of Hasiet Negash, who dedicated her life to serving vulnerable children in the name of Jesus. In January 2015, while on a mission trip in rural India, Hasiet passed away at the young age of 19. Her parents, Pastor Ambelie Negash and Fasika Negash, along with family and friends, decided to honor her memory by continuing her work. In June 2015, they traveled to Bahir Dar, Ethiopia to establish the ministry. The need was staggering – countless children lived in extreme poverty, lacking access to basic necessities like food, clean water, shelter, and education. Many were orphans or lived with older siblings or relatives who had no means to provide for them.
By partnering with local church leaders, Hasiet’s Vision International identified families who were most in need and started the Child Sponsorship Program by sponsoring nine children. These children were quickly matched with sponsors in the US who pledged monthly donations to support them. Since then, the organization has expanded its reach, adding more children to its sponsorship program as funds become available.
In 2023, Hasiet’s Vision expanded its reach to the Tigray region in Ethiopia, in response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis created by the war. The conflict has left many families displaced, without access to basic necessities like food, shelter, and healthcare. Hasiet’s Vision recognized the urgency of the situation and began working with local partners to provide aid to those affected by the conflict.
By supporting these children, Hasiet’s Vision International seeks to provide them with the resources they need to thrive, and to share the love of Christ with them in a tangible way.
